Haruko holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Waseda University Graduate School of Business Administration. As secretary to the mayor of Shimizu City, she was involved in global projects such as the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan and Korea. In 2008, she became independent and started her own leadership development business. In 2014, she was appointed as the Japanese representative of a European educational institution with an established reputation for developing female executives. In 2015, she founded Women’s Leadership Institute, Inc. as an advisor for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, with many clients in listed companies, global corporations, and government agencies. She received her MBA from Waseda University Graduate School of Business as a working graduate student in 2023, and was appointed as an outside director of Yamano Holdings, Inc. in 2023.
Currently, she is President of Women’s Leadership Institute, Inc., Outside Director of Yamano Holdings, Inc., Outside Director, ENTERPRISE Huge Co., Ltd., Mentor for APT Women, Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Female Venture Growth Promotion Project, and Mentor for EY EWW Female Entrepreneur Accelerator.
