BDTI’s Director Training for Women Initiative 2025
The Director Training for Women Initiative 2025 which began accepting applications in April 2025, was very well received, with many talented women applying. In response to strong requests from the sponsor, it has been decided to continue the program in the second half of the year. While the number of participants is limited, the program will focus on two specific courses: “Finance Course” and “Role-Play Course” providing comprehensive support for practical, hands-on learning. In particular, the “Finance COurse” offers an excellent opportunity to significantly reduce tuition costs by utilizing the scholarship program. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
*The Director Training for Women Initiative is an initiative sponsored by investment management company Oasis Management, which provides scholarships to outstanding women participating in Director training courses organized by BDTI. Oasis, as the sponsoring company, covers the full cost of tuition for women with outstanding qualities who apply for any of the BDTI Director training courses. The purpose of this support is to actively address the gender gap among board members in Japan by expanding the pipeline of female board candidates through training that equips highly qualified female leaders with the necessary skills to excel as board members. BDTI’s training provides an opportunity to acquire knowledge of corporate governance early on, which is beneficial for both companies and institutional investors in securing future executive talent. We hope that this scholarship program will encourage many women to participate in Director training.
Information & Procedures for Application
【Application】
For outstanding female executive candidates (those who have previously received BDTI scholarships are not eligible to apply).
【Application Period】
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please send your resume as soon as possible.
【Programs Covered by the Initiative】
Finance School
A total of 6 finance course sessions that are ideal for those who are unfamiliar with financial statements.
「Role Play Course」
A course designed using actual incidents, and participants role-play based on case studies.
【Application procedures】
Applicants should indicate the course(s) they wish to take and the date(s) they wish to attend, and provide an up-to-date English language Summary CV by email to info@bdti.or.jp. Based on the summary CV, the sponsor will make a decision on the appropriateness of the scholarship and the course(s) to be offered.
【Selection Process】
Oasis will endeavor to respond within two to three weeks, by asking BDTI to send you an email. After your application is approved, please register for the course in which you have expressed interest.
【Notes】
This scholarship is limited to one course per person.
Applicants who have received a scholarship from BDTI in the past are not eligible to apply.
Applications must be from individuals. Applications from companies will not be accepted.
Please note that it may take up to two weeks for the sponsor to review your application after you have sent your resume.
By applying for this scholarship, you give your consent to BDTI’s Privacy Policy 4 (provision to third parties), and your personal information and resume will be shared with our sponsor, Oasis Management.
BDTI will take responsibility for destroying your resume immediately after the screening process is complete, regardless of whether or not you are approved for the scholarship.
After the scholarship is approved, BDTI and Oasis Management, the sponsor company, will manage the information you provide on the application page and handle it appropriately in accordance with the rules and regulations of each company.
No changes of course date or cancellations are allowed.
Sponsors will not cover cancellation fees. You’ll have to pay those yourself.
Cancellations made 3 weeks prior to the event date will be charged 50% of the course fee.
Cancellations made within 3 days of the event or on the day of the event will be charged the full amount of the course fee.
